The female and children's voices were plain awful caricatures. There was no emotional depth and after first few chapters where the main MCs voices were differentiated with weird high pitch for Cameron that made no sense at all, it evened out to make it difficult to figure out who was speaking. Nick Hudson's narration was filled with odd pauses at the end of each sentence. I remember reading the book and laughing out loud with the snarky 'in your head' commentary of both MCs and somehow all of this was lost in the audio version. The story is full of warmth and humour where rescue animals and clients of the vet clinic rival with the nosy townspeople in quirkiness.
